MyWaterSessions.

Connect your watch

MyWaterSessions works with any GPS watch. There are two ways in: some watches upload automatically, and every other watch or phone works by uploading a small FIT / GPX / TCX file. Here is the best way for each brand.

Two mechanisms, depending on the brand:

πŸ“ Status & roadmap β€” July 2026

  • Polar – automatic import: available now.
  • Garmin – automatic today only with our WaterSession Connect IQ app; any other Garmin activity via USB file upload. Automatic sync for every Garmin app is expected ~end of August 2026 (pending Garmin approval).
  • COROS – file upload today; direct automatic sync expected ~end of August 2026 (pending COROS approval).
  • Apple Watch – today via Apple Health / HealthFit export; our own Apple Watch app is planned for early 2027.
  • Suunto & any other watch – file upload (FIT / GPX / TCX): available now.

⌚ Garmin Automatic

  1. Install the free WaterSession app from the Garmin Connect IQ store on your watch.
  2. Open your MyWaterSessions account and enter the connect code the watch shows, to link the watch to your account (one time).
  3. Record your session with the app. When the watch syncs to Garmin Connect, the session uploads to MyWaterSessions automatically and enters the ranking.

No Garmin app? You can also upload a Garmin FIT or Garmin Connect export – see β€œAny other watch” below.

⌚ Polar Automatic

Polar has no app to install on the watch. Instead you connect your Polar Flow account once, and we import your sessions from there.

  1. Record and let your watch sync to Polar Flow as usual (via the Polar phone app or cable).
  2. In MyWaterSessions open Add session and click πŸ”— Connect Polar.
  3. Sign in at Polar Flow and confirm. You are sent back to the app.
  4. Click πŸ”„ Sync Polar. Your Polar sessions import automatically. Add spot, board and sail under My Results so they count in the ranking.

How does Polar know which watch? It doesn’t need to – the link is your account, not the watch. Any Polar watch tied to your Polar Flow account works; we simply read whatever sessions land in that account.

⌚ COROS File upload Direct sync coming

  1. In the COROS phone app open the activity.
  2. Export it as a FIT (or GPX / TCX) file.
  3. In MyWaterSessions open Add session and upload the file.

Automatic COROS sync is on our roadmap – for now the file upload takes a few seconds.

⌚ Suunto File upload

  1. In the Suunto app open the activity.
  2. Export it as GPX (or FIT).
  3. Upload it in MyWaterSessions under Add session.

⌚ Fitbit File upload

  1. On fitbit.com open the exercise (recorded with GPS).
  2. Use the gear icon / Export β†’ TCX.
  3. Upload it in MyWaterSessions under Add session.

Only exercises recorded with GPS carry a track and speed.

⌚ Apple Watch File upload

Via Apple Health – works with any GPS workout, even Apple's built-in Workout app:

  1. Record a GPS workout on the watch – the route is saved to Apple Health automatically.
  2. Open a Health-export app such as HealthFit or RunGap (they read your Apple Health workouts).
  3. Export the workout as GPX (or FIT / TCX).
  4. Upload it in MyWaterSessions under Add session.

HealthFit / RunGap can also auto-export every new workout, so you set it up just once. A watersports app that exports GPX directly works too.

⌚ Any other watch or phone File upload

If your device can produce a FIT, GPX or TCX file, it works. Export the activity and upload it under Add session – speed, GPS track, runs and every metric are computed for you.

Already on Strava or Garmin Connect? File upload

  1. Open the activity on Strava (Export GPX) or Garmin Connect (Export to FIT / GPX / TCX).
  2. Upload that file in MyWaterSessions under Add session.
